ADOPT A SCHOOL
In September 2002, the council of the Commune Council in the village of Alarupi, region of Pogradec, Albania, passed two decisions (resolutions) honoring Mr. Kole for his efforts in rebuilding the school in his parents’ hometown. The first decision made Mr. Kole an honorary citizen of the village and the second decision named the school in honor of Mr. Kole’s parents who were citizens of the village. In addition, the pupils and teachers of the school sent a special thank-you letter and poem to Mr. Kole for his efforts. Copies of the certificate (and an English translation) are shown below. Also, English translations of the decisions and thank you letter from the school pupils and teachers are shown.

Dear Albanian-Americans and Friends of Albania,
During the last 12 years, we have witnessed major changes taking place in the major cities of Albania.
Unfortunately, the schools in our small towns and villages have been left in a deplorable state. One particular school in the village of my birth, Alaurpi, is a prime example. The present condition of the school will make any person living in the United States cry. It is difficult to imagine that this condition is allowed to exist. This school needs a new roof, doors, windows, and a major remodeling inside the classrooms. The furniture, desks and blackboards have not been updated since the end of World War II. I have adopted this School.
One person can make a difference, please see the
following web page: www.albania2000.com.
We seldom have an opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. This is an opportunity for you, your family and friends, or your community to make a difference. Please consider this unusual opportunity to adopt a school. If you or a member of your family would like to adopt a school, possibly the school your parents attended or maybe the school in your hometown, think of doing something in memory of your family. Please contact me and I will explain to you what needs to done and how we can accomplish it. Many of the items, necessary to help your school, can be purchased in Europe or America.

GIVERS SLEEP BETTER”
Sincerely,
Peter C. Kole
